Healing Afternoon – Come & Meet the Healing Team @ Reading National Spiritualist Church
Feb 18 @ 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm

Spiritual Healing is complementary to orthodox medicine and should not be considered as an alternative. Spiritual Healing will complement the treatment you may be receiving from your doctor and the two will work together to assist in your recovery.

Spiritual Healing aims to treat the whole person and is not solely for physical ailments.  No faith is required and Spiritual Healing can be administered to babies, young children and animals. Nothing is expected from the patient, except perhaps openness to what may happen, an acceptance of the need for change and the will to do so. A patient’s positive attitude works well with both conventional medical treatment and Spiritual Healing.

When attending for Spiritual Healing you will be asked:

If you want to remove an “outside” coat and hat for your comfort

You will be asked for your consent to receive contact healing

If you have consulted your GP

to sit on a chair, wheelchair users can be treated where they are

Your permission will be sought to record confidential information on the healing records.

When you receive Spiritual Healing it will be explained to you how the Healer will work with you. Having explained the procedure for working and asked if you feel comfortable, the Spiritual Healer will ask you if you wish to continue. With your agreement, the session will continue.

The Healer, with your permission, will place their hands on you; this is “contact healing”.  Each Healer has their own way of working. Healers are aware of where they may and may not place their hands, in respect to “sensitive areas”, they work to a Code of Conduct issued by their organisation to which they must adhere – it is compulsory.

The duration of the healing session varies from person to person, and is usually between ten and twenty minutes. During the healing session, you will be asked to relax and quieten your mind; you may close your eyes to assist this process. As healing proceeds, you may feel a little warmer, a little cooler, or no change at all – just relax and enjoy the session. Equally, don’t try to detect what is happening, just RELAX.

The Spiritual Healer will complete a record card each time you visit. It is strictly confidential, however, you are allowed to see your record card, but no-one else is, not even the Doctor!

In accordance with “NHS Choices”, your Doctor has the right to refer you for Spiritual Healing if he feels it would be beneficial. You also have the right to request Spiritual Healing.

The Healer will always encourage you to remain in touch with your Doctor as your Doctor always remains in control of your medical care.  Spiritual Healing is complementary to medical treatment, so do tell your Doctor of any benefits that you may feel.

Spiritual Healing is provided in this church at no cost to the recipient, although any donations for your healing are warmly welcomed.

Sitting in the Power
Feb 26 @ 7:30 pm – 8:45 pm

Tuesday Power Circle

£3 non Members

£2 Members

Come and sit in the power in a circle which is open to everyone. If you enjoy sitting in the quiet but don’t want the commitment of a development circle then this might be the right one for you.

It is an informal social circle, where discussion on all things Spiritual can take place over a cup of tea and a biscuit.  You can join the discussion, propose a topic or just sit in the energy. Why not give it a try.

The circle was formed for those with experience of meditation and an interest in Spiritualism, but who don’t want to work as Mediums.  Everyone is welcome to join us as long as they understand there will be no mediumship exercises. This will be reserved for the Open Circle which runs every Tuesday evening with the lovely Sharon Spence.

For the first thirty minutes, we sit in the power (thirty minutes is the goal). If you find this too difficult, just open your eyes and relax while you wait for everyone to catch up. Some of the group want to sit for longer and some for less, so thirty minutes is a bit of a compromise.

We tend not to use music as not everyone wants it, and others prefer their own music choice. I feel it would be impossible to please everyone. Some people say they can’t sit without their music which is why the silence is a good discipline to acquire.

Guest Medium

There will be an opportunity for discussion with a guest medium; the idea being to benefit from a wide range of experiences and opinions. The guest medium will lead the discussion and there will be an opportunity for Q & A.  As the group progresses and you feel more confident please do suggest topics to be discussed and mediums you would like to invite. If you are interested in the circle please do come along, everyone is welcome and you don’t have to be a member. If you do have any questions please do ask.

8:45 Closing Prayer

Tea & Coffee and a chance to chat.

Hope to see you soon.
